It is not so much about logic. A ticket to a Allari Naresh film has always
meant bidding adieu to reason. So be it with Yaction – with an added dimension!!
Why would you, in the first place, want to strain yourself with logic and
reason, when you have sufficient and more to laugh and the likes of
Brahmanandam and MS Narayana working overtime, may be with nothing new but the
time tested take off on popular actors (Pavan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu), another
take on “carry bags” and the like.
To begin with Anil Sukara (Director) is unpretentious and offers what the huge
crowds lined up the theatre are expecting. The cat calls and the laughs clearly
indicate that he the pulse reading in place. May be his crew lets him down in a
few places, but that notwithstanding he keeps the energy levels going and the
humour.
You have a rough idea of what is in store when you have Posani Krishna Murali
and Sunil doing the job of the Sutradhar. The tale is about four guys (there
you go with yet another case of male bonding!!) Bava (Allari Naresh), Shiva
(Vaibhav Reddy), Purshottam (Raju Sundaram) and Ajay (Shaam) of a stag trip to
Goa just a few days before the marriage of Ajay. Sporting pa-in-law to be
offers a swanky car and advices the prospective son in law to have all the fun
and the works.
You know by now that Goa is not just fun and frolic. There is looming
challenges hidden in the pubs and parks, sea shore and hotels. Their adventure
begins at a Restaurant run by Rayalaseema arch types who only speak after
hurling an axe on a guy. On the run from the guys they meet up with Geeta
(Neelam Upadhaya) on the way. They land up in the middle of nowhere and their
car is literally ruined, but soon back on the wheels they reach Goa. There are
a plenty of people walking into the script with cameos and with characters that
are relevant as long as they last.
In Goa they reach the roof top of their hotel for a drinking binge and run into
Bokka Venkat Rao (MS Narayana). The next morning with a huge hangover in their
rooms littered to the hilt and a fowl running around and a tiger in the wash
room!! Also they realise that one of them Ajay is missing. Bava also receives a
phone call from Magnet Mama (Brahmanandam) who lands in Goa to add to their
woes. Problems pile up and they get entangled in a maze that is not easy to
unravel. For the viewer each is a great opportunity to have a laugh.
What makes the movie watchable is the brilliance of the likes of Brahmanandam,
MS Narayana and Raju Sundaram. The romantic angle is actually a distraction and
fortunately the film maker does not spend too much time on that track though he
dedicates the customary romantic songs for the hero and heroine. Allari Naresh
is his usual self with deft one liners and perfect timing.
The film is not wanting the will to entertain. It is a tad too long for a
comedy and there are times when it turns a tad too crass, with jokes on a
child’s used diaper landing on ones face. This not withstanding it is just the
kind of comedy on which we have grown and would often pay to entertain
ourselves.
