Rarely has there been a film which
lives up to its title with such consistency as this. Rarely does a film meander
in the realm of the ludicrous with such consistent focus. Rarely does a film
short as it is give you not a moment to savour as positive except when the
credits roll at the end and you know it is time to exit. It is the kind of film
where even the trailer ha a caveat written all over.
The film is painfully mind boggling. Inexplicable. Even the Uva uva
advertisement for a clothing franchisee seems a piece of art in compare. What
is this marvel all about? What is the space of Sampoornesh Babu? Is he heading
to be the eight wonder albeit dubious? At the start of the film and after the
break there is a statutory warning through a documentary which gives you a list
of things that are carcinogenic and thus to be avoided. I am surprised the
movie is not included in the said list.
Designed to be a parody, it is way off the mark. Central to the entire
indulgence is total paucity of class, sense of viewable authenticity or
interest. As a spoof of what happens with the Telugu industry it is worse than
the subject and reflects a very crass approach to what could really have been a
fine execution. Strenuously told through a puerile plot, the mish mash is nerve
testing. The script is an awry missile reflective of the chosen protagonist.
The bewilderingly daft narrative style that seemingly is designed to take pot
shots at mainstream Tollywood, is itself begging for ridicule.
We have these two guys Linga Raju and Karthik who are into short film making.
While Linga Raju is the actor, Karthik is the film maker. After having shot a
short film for you tube and having realised its popularity they begin to think
big. Karthik is in love and the prospective pa in law expects the guy to make a
crore in six months if he wants to marry his daughter. Now enters the
businessman with tons of money who wants to invest it in a film to be made by
the youngsters and is willing to part with the crore in question if they agree
to make the film with his son Babu (Sampoornesh Babu).
Once Babu enters the script, he takes over and dictates the lewdest of possible
things during the making of the film. The frustrated guys decide to kidnap Babu
and demand a ransom. Joining them is Rajesh (Rajesh) who gives them ideas as to
how to execute the kidnap drama. Finally everybody, everything end in the
villains den and the prospective film maker gets his girl, and we our peace.
What is purportedly aimed at entertaining ends up being an endurance test.
Those who make a polite early exit are those with acceptable tolerance levels.
Those who remain till the end are the gutsy of the hopelessly optimistic ones.
This is the kind of film where the review guy feels like putting in his papers.
Take the title seriously.
